Note we cannot always update this website when unexpected weather occurs. If you have questions, please CALL YOUR COACH, as they have the up-to-the-minute information.

HOLT 2012-2013 Basketball Season!

WELCOME TO A NEW SEASON OF BASKETBALL AT HOLT!

We are pleased to offer recreational but competitive basketball programming for the youth of Durham, NC.

Our practices and most of our games are held within our own gym, Holt Gym, next to Eno Valley Elementary School off N. Roxboro/Milton Road in Northern Durham, NC.

We offer Micro Basketball, a once-a-week program for 3-4 year olds. Cost is $40 and runs approx. 7weeks.

Our Youth Basketball program is for ages 5 to 17. Our 5-6 age group is co-ed, all other age groups are separated boys and girls. Cost for Youth Basketball is $85.

Holt IS:

Traditional - We were organized in 1964 to provide quality sports for the youth of Durham, Person and Orange Counties. (Note, although we share the name, Holt Athletic Association is NOT part of Holt Elementary School). Some of our players are third generation - their parents and grandparents played with us. Start your family tradition with us!

Non-Profit and 100% Volunteer - We are run by a board of volunteers. None of our positions are paid. All of our profits are re-invested to keep our sports programs state-of-the-art.

Competitive with 100% Participation - We differ from other "rec" programs, in that we keep score, we compete. But we are not, "select" - All children play at least (and usually MUCH more) 50% of all games regardless of experience or ability. We provide playing time and instruction regardless of experience or ability. Everyone always makes a team. Children learn sportsmanship, teamwork and HEALTHY competition - how to win, how to lose. These are important life lessons outside of sports.

The Sole Owner of Our Facilities - We are unique in Northern Durham, as we OWN our gym on Milton Road. We do not rent municipal facilities and we maintain our quality equipment. This means you always know where your child will train and we are not subject to some other school or organization's schedule.

A Stepping Stone to Your Child's Sports Career, or just a Really Great Experience! -Some of our players play on Middle or High School teams or for area AAU teams in addition to playing for Holt. Some of our players play just to have a great time but don't have aspirations beyond playing rec ball. Either way, you're going to have a great time with us and learn the game. Our area is diverse, our teams are diverse. for Holt is a 100% volunteer organization.
